Jennifer Miller served as a professional staff member on Capitol Hill for nearly 30 years prior to her retirement in 2019, including 24 years as a professional staff member for the House Appropriations Committee.
Most recently, she served as Staff Director of the Defense Subcommittee with responsibility for the completion of the Fiscal Year 2017, 2018, and 2019 Department of Defense Appropriations Acts.
Prior to that Jennifer served on the Commerce, Justice and State Subcommittee with oversight and budget responsibilities for a diverse portfolio that included the Departments of Commerce and Justice, the Small Business Administration, the Legal Services Corporation, and the Federal Communications Commission.
She also served on the then-Veterans Affairs, Housing and Urban Development, Independent Agencies Subcommittee with a portfolio that included Department of Housing and Urban Development, the National Science Foundation, the American Battle Monuments Commission and Arlington National Cemetery.
Other assignments included Full Committee Senior Advisor to Chairman Jerry Lewis and Chairman Harold Rogers; House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence; Surveys and Investigations Staff Director; and seven years on the legislative staff of Representative Harold Rogers of Kentucky.
She is a graduate of Indiana University, with Bachelor of Arts degrees in Russian Language and Literature and Political Science. She lives in Annapolis, Maryland with her husband and daughter.
