House Republican Floor Director Joins S-3

Washington, DC – S-3 Public Affairs today announced the addition of Capitol Hill veteran Matt Bravo, who most recently served as Floor Director to House Majority Whip Rep. Steve Scalise (R-LA). He will start work with the firm in 2018.

"Matt Bravo has been a critical part of our Whip Office team from the start, and as floor director he has helped bring about many hard-earned legislative victories to the benefit of the American people. In more than a decade working on Capitol Hill, Matt has developed strong relationships with members of Congress and staff on both sides of the aisle, and while his counsel and friendship will be missed, I know Matt's experience and expertise will serve him well in the next phase of his career,” said House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-LA).

“With his dogged work ethic, deep knowledge of House operations, and strong relationships with members and staff on both sides of the aisle, Matt Bravo has been an invaluable member of the Republican leadership team. For the past three and a half years Matt has played a critical role in crafting the strategy and getting the votes for the Republican legislative agenda. He possesses the unique skills required to grind out the votes on a tough bill and get us to 218. While I will miss Matt’s daily advice and counsel here in the Capitol, I’m grateful to know he’s just a phone call away. I am thankful for his service to our team and—more importantly—for his continued friendship. I look forward to following this next phase of his career,” said House Chief Deputy Whip Patrick McHenry (R-NC).

“Matt will be missed by Members and staff alike. As a senior aide both to Eric Cantor and Steve Scalise, he has worked closely with me and my staff over many years. Matt has proven himself to be adept at working across the aisle to ensure smooth operations on the Floor and he is well known for his institutional knowledge and ability to find solutions. In over a decade of service, Matt has become a valued and indispensable fixture on the House Floor, and I thank him for his service to this House. I wish him well in his next pursuits,” said House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer (D-MD).

“Bravo is a perfect fit for our firm’s culture and work ethic. He is a hustler and is one of the highest regarded leadership staffers on the Hill. We are thrilled he is joining the team,” said John Scofield, Partner, S-3 Public Affairs.

Matthew Bravo has extensive experience in the House, having played a key role in floor operations over the past decade. Prior to working with Scalise, Bravo was coalitions director for Rep. Fred Upton (R-MI) during his tenure as chairman of the Energy and Commerce Committee and a floor assistant for former Rep. Eric Cantor (R-VA) during his tenure as Republican whip and House majority leader.
