Kevin Casey has more than two decades of Capitol Hill experience. Most recently, he served as the Policy Director for Congressman Joseph Crowley (D-NY), Chairman of the House Democratic Caucus and the fourth-highest ranking member in the House Democratic Leadership. Casey was also responsible for the tax and financial services portfolios for Chairman Crowley, having staffed him on both the Financial Services and Ways and Means Committees.
As Policy Director, Casey worked closely with Democratic and Tri-Caucus leadership, incoming Chairs of Committees and their staffs and Members’ personal offices to ensure the priorities and perspectives of the entire Caucus were communicated to all House Democrats. He led Chairman Crowley’s “Jobs for America” task forces which empowered less senior Members to develop bills showcasing House Democrats’ laser-like focus on the economy and job creation. He also served as the Caucus parliamentarian and chief elections officer. His service with Chairman Crowley began in 1999 as a legislative assistant working his way up into Crowley’s leadership inner-circle including serving for four years at the Democratic Caucus under former Chairman Xavier Becerra. Earlier in his career, Casey worked for Congressman Bob Weygand (D-RI) and interned for then-Congressman Sherrod Brown (D-OH).
