Mike Ference is a Partner at S-3 Group, bringing decades of Capitol Hill experience to his work helping clients navigate complex legislative, regulatory and public affairs environments. At S-3, Ference guides startups, venture and private equity firms, established companies and trade associations through campaigns that support their continued growth.
An experienced strategic advisor, Ference partners with client leadership teams and boards to solve critical business challenges and capitalize on emerging opportunities. His work includes building strong two-way relationships and coalitions with diverse stakeholders, developing and communicating compelling enterprise-level narratives and managing complex issues both inside and outside the Beltway. He has helped dozens of clients meet key business objectives, including delivering mission-critical legislative and regulatory outcomes, navigating brand-threatening crises, and delivering measurable improvement in public and stakeholder opinion.
Ference’s background includes more than two decades working in the U.S. Congress, as well as deep experience in the business world. Ference spent more than ten years at the highest levels of Congressional Republican leadership in both the House and Senate, most recently as Director of Strategic Development and Senior Policy Advisor to House Republican Majority Leader Eric Cantor. During his tenure there, he managed several portfolios, including national policy efforts on issues including entrepreneurial business, banking, financial services, high-tech, energy and environment, and telecommunications. He has also founded, owned and operated an energy company and helped countless other businesses understand, navigate and succeed in Washington and elsewhere.
Originally from Pennsylvania, Mike has been named a “Top Lobbyist” by The Hill each year since 2015. He is a graduate of St. Joseph’s University.
