Shimmy brings expertise on a wide range of industries on government relations matters related to tax, financial services, pension issues, and international trade. Prior to joining S-3, Shimmy represented clients at West Front Strategies LLC, where he helped develop focused, successful strategies to navigate complex issues. West Front Strategies was a government affairs firm comprised of top lobbying and strategic communications professionals with first-hand knowledge of the legislative and administrative process in Washington, DC.
Prior to the inception of West Front Strategies LLC, Shimmy worked for three years as a principal at Blank Rome Government Relations. While working on Capitol Hill, Shimmy served as Senior Policy Advisor to House Majority Leader Eric Cantor serving as the primary policy liaison between the Majority Leader’s office, the House Republican Leadership, the Ways and Means, Armed Services and Foreign Affairs Committees. In this position, Shimmy was responsible for developing and implementing public policy objectives, messaging and strategies on important issues for the Republican Leadership and the Republican Conference. Shimmy also worked with the business community to build coalitions and support for major policy initiatives.
